National Intelligence and Security grants up to $600,000

The Australian Research Council (ARC) is inviting applications submitted through the Research Office of an Eligible Organisation for funding to support research projects, which facilitate innovation and develop national security and intelligence capacity.

Current funding opportunities are aligned with:

  • National Security Challenges offered by Defence - National Security Science and Technology Centre (NSSTC) - click HERE for details on the challenge for Round 1; and

  • Intelligence Challenges offered by the Office of National intelligence (ONI) - click HERE for details on the challenge for Round 1.

Both priority funding rounds are offering grants up to $600,000 for project which will support the objectives of the National Intelligence and Security Discovery Research Grant program including:

  • Support excellent fundamental research in areas identified in the Challenges;

  • Build Australia’s research capacity and capability in these areas;

  • Enhance collaboration in the research, science and technology community that supports Australia’s National intelligence and Security Communities; and

  • Support systematic and coordinated engagement between the research, science and technology community and Australia’s National Intelligence and Security communities.
