Grants up to $400,000 for new uses for recycled materials

The Victorian Recycling Victoria Markets Acceleration Fund is offering grants from between $30,000 and $400,000, on a 50:50 cash co-contribution basis to develop and commercialise new uses for recycled materials.

The $5 million program aimed at commercialising innovative products and processes with recycled materials will be delivered across two funding streams:

  1. Research, Development and Demonstration: Funding to support projects that develop, demonstrate, and validate new innovative uses for recycled materials. To be eligible for Stream 1 applicants must be one of the following:

    • Research institutions

    • Not-for-Profit

    • Social enterprise

    • State government entity

    • Incorporated association

    • Industry association or peak body

  2. Commercialisation Support: Funding to support activities directly related to the commercialisation of a novel product or process containing recycled materials. All applications must have a lead applicant with a current ABN and operations in Victoria. Eligible applicants for Stream 2 include:

    • For profit businesses

    • Not-for-Profits

    • Social enterprises

Project must meet at least one of the following objectives:

  • Identify and develop new domestic uses for recylcable materials, including those that may otherwise go to landfill or be stockpiled

  • Commercialise innovative products and processes that contain recycled materials and meet end user needs

  • Improve confidence in, demand for, and uptake of recycled products in Victoria

  • Boost Victoria’s economy through local circular economy initiatives, helping businesses to grow in new ways, and creating new jobs

Information sessions are being held on Monday May 9th (Stream 1) and Tuesday May 10th (Stream 2).

All applications must be submitted by 11:59pmon Thursday 2nd June, 2022.
