Government Grants up to $50M to deliver regional infrastructure projects
Stream Two of the Regional Precincts and Partnerships Program (rPPP) is open for application.
Eligible entities can apply for grant funding between $5 million and $50 million to deliver regional precincts that are tailored to local needs, and have a shared vision in how that precinct connects to the region.
Regional precincts or ‘places with purpose’ are user-defined geographical areas with a specific shared need or theme and may include business districts, neighbourhoods, activity centres, commercial hubs or community and recreational areas.
The objective of Stream Two is to work with partners to support the delivery of precincts that provide targeted benefits related to productivity, equity, and resilience for regional, rural and remote areas across Australia.
The intended outcomes of Stream Two are to:
Deliver projects that form part of a precinct or foundational infrastructure that activates a precinct.
Develop and deliver regional precincts comprised of multiple infrastructure components, which provide local, targeted benefits.
Contribute to the Australian Governments current policy priorities including but not limited to: Closing the Gap, transition to a net zero economy, Australia’s emission reduction goals, social and affordable housing, and National Cultural Policy.

State and Territory Governments
Local Governments
Regional Universities
Incorporated Not-For-Profit organisations
Indigenous Organisations
Eligible applicants must hold an Australian Business Number (ABN) or Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Organisations (ORIC) registration.
Eligible Projects must:
Be completed by 31 March 2026.
Be located in a regional, rural or remote location (see mapping tool here).
Be aimed at delivering one or more specific projects as part of a precinct.
Work with partners to support the delivery of precinct projects or foundational infrastructure which provide local benefits.
Not have received Commonwealth funding to undertake the same activities.
Have a minimum expenditure of $5 million.
Funding can be used to cover costs directly related to your agreed project including:
Materials for construction.
Lease of plant and equipment.
Labour.
Labour on-costs and administrative overheads.
Contract expenditure.
Relevant travel.
Applications are open on an ongoing basis, and will be assessed periodically in batches.
