$32.6 million in government grant for emerging aviation technologies

Government grants are available on a co-contribution basis to support the development and deployment of emerging aviation technology to enhance the competitiveness, efficiency and reliability of Australia aviation.

Eligible applicants must have an ABN and be registered for GST and be one of the following:

  • company incorporated in Australia

  • foreign corporation

  • company incorporated by guarantee

  • incorporated trustee on behalf of a trust

  • incorporated association

  • partnership

  • join application (consortia)

  • higher education provider

  • incorporated NFP organisation

  • individual

  • Aboriginal and/or Tourist Strait Islander Corporation

Project activities may include:

  • conducting trials of emerging aviation technologies

  • conducting Research and Development to support the proposal

  • communication and information sharing activiites

  • demonstrating technical viability

  • technological development

  • demonstrating the uniqueness of the proposal compared to other offerings in the market

  • demonstrating the commercial/scalability potential in domestic or international markets

  • assisting the government anda other partners to address policy, regulatory or other issues

A total of $15.3 million has been allocated for Round one and there is no minimum or maximum grant amount fixed for any projects.

Applications must be submitted by 11:30pm (AEDT) on 31 March 2022.
