Up to $40,000 grant funding for WA regional tourism events

The WA Regional Events Scheme (RES) and Regional Aboriginal Events Scheme (RAES) offers grant up to $40,000 to eligible applicants to develop and deliver events in regional WA which are held between 1 July 2023 and 30 June 2024. A funding pool of $1.1 million includes allocation of $250,000 specifically to support RAES and the delivery of Aboriginal activities and experiences.

The program supports events that:

  • Generate additional tourism income to regional communities by increasing visitor numbers and expenditure

  • Attract media coverage to help raise the profile, and promote the region as a tourist destination

  • Involve and inspire the local community

  • Encourage people to come to the region outside of the typical tourist season

  • Add vibrancy and excitement to the region

  • Support jobs in regional WA

  • Showcase a strong point of difference and/or profile the unique features of the town and/or region

Applicants applying under the RAES stream of funding must meet additional eligibility criteria including:

  • More than 50% of the vent programming must offer Aboriginal activities or experiences

  • Must have the i novlvement of Aboriginal people in the leadership, coordination and delivery of the vent program which may also relate to performers, food and beverage offers or the production and selling of merchandise.
