Up to $3 million to support medical research and innovation projects

Government Grants up to $3 million are being offered, on a competitive basis, through the Clinician Researchers Applied Research in Health Grant Opportunity, to provide direct research resources to clinicians, researchers and healthcare professionals to focus on developing and refining their research skills and build research capacity.

Eligible applicants include:

  • medical research institutes

  • universities

  • corporate Commonwealth entities

  • corporations including businesses and NFP’s

  • State or Territory governments

  • a state or territory government entity

Projects will be funded from one of the following program streams:

  1. General practitioner-led teams

  2. Medical specialist-led teams

  3. Allied health-led teams

Successful projects must:

  • address a clearly defined health care priority from local health care and/or practice

  • demonstrate potential to improve clinical practice or health system effectiveness for improved patient outcomes

  • be embedded within health services, but can be coordinated across networks
