Up to $250,000 per annum for Medtech and Pharma industry fellowships

The $32 million Researcher Exchange and Development initiative (REDI) is aimed at delivering improvements to skills development and training programs the medical technology, biotechnology and pharmaceutical sector workforce.

The MTPConnect REDI Fellowship program will provide up to $250,000 per Fellow, per annum, providing financial support to Australian, international and/or multinational MTP companies to bring Australian academics, clinicians and MTP professionals in-house for up to twelve months to work on priority medical research projects.

The Fellowship grants will support salaries and on-costs as well as additional costs such as relocation costs.

An eligible REDI Fellowship application requires:

  • An industry sponsors who is at, or past, the product development stage and sufficiently resources to support the growth of the Fellow;

  • Have a Fellow who is an Australian citizen or an Australian permanent resident;

  • An Employer of the Fellow which has an Australian Business Number (ABN) and which is one of the following:

    • a medical research institute;

    • a university;

    • a hospital;

    • a corporate Commonwealth entity; or

    • a corporation.

  • Have an applicable project in the medical technology, biotechnology or pharmaceutical sector.
