Sovereign Industrial Capability Priority grants up to $1.4 million

Eligible Australian SME’s can apply from $70,000 and up to $1.4 million in grant funding through the Sovereign Industrial Capability Priority (SICP) grant program to help build industrial capabilities that are aligned with the Defence priorities.

There are a total of ten Defence Sovereign Industrial Capability Priorities including:

  • Collins Class submarine maintenance and technology upgrade;

  • Continuous shipbuilding program;

  • Land combat and protected vehicles and technology upgrade;

  • Enhanced active phased array and passive radar capability;

  • Advanced signal processing;

  • Surveillance and intelligence;

  • Test, evaluation, certification and systems assurance;

  • Munitions and small arms research, design, development and manufacture;

  • Aerospace platform deeper maintenance and structural integrity.

The SICP is a co-contribution program, requiring the successful applicant to contribute at least 30% of total eligible costs of the project.

This grant funding supports the acquisition of capital equipment, including purchase specialist software to enhance cyber security. As it relates to the project, eligible activities also includes design, engineering, workforce training and accreditation.

There is no limit on the number of grants that businesses can apply for and received over the life of the program, however funding is capped at a total of $4.2 million over a three year period per business.

Applications are open on an ongoing basis.
