Grants up to $1.5 million for development of medical devices

The Clinical Translation and Commercialisation (CTCM) program aims to support Australian SME’s to undertake early clinical development of medical devices with commercial potential.

The CTCM program offers competitive grants available from $250,000 and up to $1.5 million on a 50:50 co-contribution basis.

Partnerships and collaborations are allowed, however applicant and project eligibility includes:

  • The lead applicant must:

    • be a registered Australian business

    • be incorporated in Australia

    • have an ABN

    • have less than 200 employees

  • Have capacity to support the co-contribution obligation

  • Involve the development of a medical device

  • Provide evidence of technical and/or commercial feasibility of the product

  • Must control or have the rights to the know-how and/or existing and potential IP

Strong project proposals will:

  • Demonstrate the potential to improve the health and wellbeing of Australians

  • Demonstrate how CTCM funds will accelerate the production and commercialisation of a medical device within a 24 month period

  • Demonstrate a commitment to Australian manufacturing

  • Demonstrate the potential to advance the medical technologies sector in Australia and economic and workforce development

  • Form partnerships or stimulate collaboration across disciplines and between the research, industry and technology sectors

Expressions of Interest must be submitted by 11 March 2022
