Government Grant funding to renew or upgrade regional airports.

The WA Regional Airports Development Scheme (RADS) if offering grant funding, on a co-contribution basis, to support regional airport infrastructure projects.

Eligible applicants must:

  • Have an airport project located in regional or remote Western Australian.

  • Be the airport owner or lease holder.

  • Must have an Australian Business Number.

  • The airport must provide aviation services for the general public.

  • The airport must be maintained on an ongoing basis.

  • The project must provide public benefit.

  • The project is unlikely to proceed without funding support.

Eligible projects should fall into one or more of the following categories:

  • Aircraft Movement Area Development: May involve construction, extension, sealing, or marking or runways, taxiways and aircraft parking areas.

  • Airside Development: May include provision of airport lighting, navigation aids and patient transfer facilities.

  • Grounds Development: May include animal exclusion fencing, drainage or obstacle limitation areas.

  • Terminal Development: May include construction, installation of security equipment, such as bag and passenger screening facilities, or safety enhancements.

  • Airport Strategic Planning: For example a strategic airport asset and financial management plan which guides future capital works.

  • Other aviation infrastructure projects: Projects which will improve regional air services and air safety for the benefit of regional communities.
