Funding for female founders to scale up into domestic and global markets

The Boosting Female Founders Initiative (BFFI) round 3 will support women entrepreneurs overcome the disadvantages faced in accessing finance and support to help grow their startups.

The BFFI will offer grant funding up to $400,000 ($480,000 for priority groups), on a co-contribution basis, for majority female owned and led startups to expand into domestic and global markets. The program will also offer mentoring and advice to a select number of eligible applicants.

To be eligible to apply you must:

  • be a startup that is scalable as defined in the Grant Opportunity Guidelines

  • be a female founded startup that is at least 51% owned and led by women

  • have ac combined annual turnover of less than $20 million for each of the three financial years prior to the lodgement of the application

  • have an ABN and be one of the following entities:

    • an entity incorporated in Australia

    • a partnership

    • a sole trader

    • a trust or trustee

Eligible activities will include:

  • launching and scaling products and/or services

  • developing and marketing software and apps

  • development and marketing of products and/or services

  • purchase of equipment specific to the project to support growth

  • expansion to other markets

  • access to independent management (e.g. C-suite, advisory board)

  • expanding management teams and/or estblishing a board

  • access to relevant professional development

  • other activities may also be approved

The BFFI Round 3 will open on 6th May 2022 with a closing date of 2nd June, 2022 (5PM AEST).
