Up to $1 million in grant funding for food and beverage value adding

The WA Government are offering eligible applicants the opportunity to be offered grants between $500,000 and $1 million on a 50:50 co-contribution basis to support capital investment projects.

Capital investment projects to expand, diversify or relocate value adding and processing operations relating to food and beverage manufacturing, or other forms of value add processing, may be eligible.

Funding can be used for:

  • Investment in new manufacturing capability or processing facilities, new technology or plant modernisation which results in a reduction in WA’s reliance on imported products, supports business growth, fosters innovation and creates jobs.

  • Investment that improves sustainability, reduces environmental impact of food and beverage manufacturing / processing activities, or contributes to improvement sin broader environmental, social, and / or governance outcomes.

  • Investment that enables expansion or diversification of business operations that relate to value adding to primary production in WA.

  • Businesses looking to relocate operations to, or expand existing operations in, regional and/or metropolitan WA.

Eligible applicants must:

  • Be a private sector business, public company, grower cooperative, or similar organsiation that has an ABN and is registered for GST.

  • Be located in, or looking to relocate to, WA including regional and/or Perth metro area.

  • Be a going concern and have been in operation for a minimum of two years.

  • Have financial capacity to support the minimum cash co-contribution.

  • Aboriginal businesses that do not have the 50% cash contribution but can demonstrate In-kind and / or a lesser cash leverage may be considered on a case by case basis.

  • Complete your proposed project by 28 February 2026.

Stage One Expressions of Interest are due for submission by 5pm (AWST), Friday 3rd May 2024.

Successful EOI applicants will be invited to submit a detailed Stage 2 application.
