Up to $2 million grant funding for Victorian R&D infrastructure

The $15 million Made in Victoria - Industry R&D Infrastructure Fund is offering grant funding between $250,000 and $2 million, on a 50:50 matching funding basis, to eligible businesses to invest in or expand existing R&D infrastructure.

Grant funding can be used to support investment in new infrastructure and sophisticated equiment including measurement instruments, testing equipment, imaging / sensing technologies, and clean room facilities.

The program is open to businesses that provide R&D services and/or undertake R&D as part of their operations, and eligible businesses must:

  • Be operating in Victoria and hold an Australian Business Number (ABN

  • Have a three year trading history

  • Employ at least 20FTE staff or have an annual turnover between $1.5 and $100 million

The program aims to support new R&D infrastructure projects aligned to Victoria’s priority industries including:

  • new energy technologies, including wind, hydrogen, solar and batteries

  • health technologies, including medtech, biotech, pharma and consumer healthcare

  • food manufacturing and agriculture

  • defence, aerospace and space

  • digital and advanced technologies, including advanced materials, robotics, AI (Artifical intelligence), 3D-printing, and quantum technologies

The two-stage application process includes an Expression of Interest, with successful EOI applicants invited to apply to Stage Two and submit a detailed application including project plan, project budget, financial reports, evidence of co-contribution capacity, business plan, risk management plan, and letters of support.

Expressions of Interest must be submitted by 5pm on Friday 18 August 2023.
