NERA Open Innovation Challenge Program

NERA has launched an open innovation challenge to drive innovation and productivity, and to help grow local businesses and create jobs.

In partnership with the WA State Government and Chevron Australia the first GeneratER challenges have been launched providing SME’s with the potential opportunity to:

  • Showcase solutions to potential government and industry clients

  • Gain a better understanding of procurement pathways and requirements

  • Build capability, grow relationships and experience through collaboration on pilot programs

  • Pilot a solution with operators

NERA will provide up to $50,000 funding to support each pilot selected to support one of the first three Chevron Australia GeneratER challenges, which include:

  1. MEG Test Strips: Provide a simplified ‘test strip’ technique for field operators to confirm Mono Ethylene Glycol (MEG) quality without the need for complex laboratory analysis.

  2. EHHA Certified Drones: Reduce health and safety risk to personnel through the use of drones certified to fly into hazardous areas to investigate abnormal situations using onboard sensors.

  3. Barrow Island (BWI) Cathodic Protection Monitoring: Remote sensing of cathodic protection (CP) system for wellborn corrosion mitigation on Barrow Island.

Applications for an Expression of Interest must be submitted by Friday 23 July 2021, 5pm (WST) through the GeneratER portal HERE.
