Grant funding up to $5 million for innovative commercialisation and/or growth projects.

The Australian Government Industry Growth Program offers grant funding, to apply for up to $5 million in grant funding support.

The Industry Growth Program is a competitive grants program, offering funding on a co-contribution basis to successful applicants undertaking projects in one of the National Reconstruction Fund priority areas.

Funding is offered via two funding streams.

Early Stage commercialisation Grant: Applicants with eligble projects at the feasibility study, proof-of-concept and prototype stage can apply for grants of $50,000 - $250,000 to help establish commercial viability of innovative products, processes or services. Early Stage Commercialisation grant projects are intended broadly to include the journey through TRL3 to TRL6.

Commercialisation and Growth Grant: Applications with projects that are in prototype through to market readiness can apply for grant funding support between $100,000 - $5,000,000. Activities may include developing strategies for entering the market, accelerating growth, and/or scaling up into national and international markets. Commercialisation and Growth grant projects are intended broadly to include the journey of an innovation through TRL4 to TRL9.

Grant funding prerequisite: To be eligible to apply for Industry Growth Program funding, applicants must first apply for, and receive, an Industry Growth Program Advisory Service. Industry Growth Program Advisors will provide eligible businesses tailored advice to support their commercialisation and/or growth projects.

Eligibility Criteria: Eligible applicants must:

  • HOld and Australian Business NUmber (ABN) and be registered for GST

  • Be non-income tax exempt

  • Be an eligible entity which includes: incorporated Australian company, cooperative, incorporated trustee applying on behalf of a trust

  • Have a combined annual turnove of less than $20 million for each of teh three financial years prior to application lodgement

  • have an innovative product, process or service that you are seeking to commercialisation / grow in one of the NRF priority areas, which include:

    • Value-add in resources

    • Value-add in agriculture, forestry and fisheries

    • Transport

    • Medical science

    • Renewables and low emission technologies

    • Defence capability

    • Enabling capabilities
