Grant funding to support SME’s to expand export activities in Asia

The West Australian government are offering grants, on a competitive basis, to support SME’s to expand their export activities and build competitiveness in new Asian markets such as China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea and Vietnam.

Grants up to $27,500 will be offered to successful applicants on a 20:80 co-contribution basis, where the applicant must contribute at least 20% of the total eligible project costs.

Proposed projects must be in at least one of the WA government priority sectors which include:

  • Energy

  • International education

  • Defence industries

  • Mining and mining equipment, technology and services

  • Health and medical life sciences

  • Primary industries

  • Tourism, events and creative industries

Grant funding can be used to assist recipients to engage in activities that enable them to:

  • Adopt new business models to expand market share

  • cope new supply or value chains

  • develop export plans, including those that manage COVID-19 implications

  • develop new partnerships through specialist in-market support and services

  • increase innovation in logistics and supply chain models

  • scope new e-commerce models and digital platforms

  • market research / intelligence

  • develop new market collateral for Asian markets

Expressions of Interest for the Access Asia Business Grants must be submitted by 12pm (AWST) on 22 November 2022.

Successful applicants will be notified of the outcome by 9 December 2022, with shortlisted applicants invited to submit detailed project proposals.
