Government Grants up to $5 million for securing raw materials

The Securing Raw Materials Program is offering successful applicants up to $5 million On a 50% co-contribution basis) to to research and develop innovative and locally sourced raw material supplies in regional areas.

Eligible applicants bust be an Australian incorporated trading entity with an Australian Business Number (ABN).

Eligible projects must:

  • support R&D of innovative or locally sourced raw material supplies including value-add or the use of existing known suppliers for a new purpose

  • include the business establishing a new operation, branch or outpost, or relocating from a capital city to a regional area

  • have at least 10 FTE employees who are relation or commencing work in the regional area

Projects in the mineral extraction and traditional energy production sectors are not eligible for grant funding.

Eligible project activities include:

  • R&D into new/improved raw materials, methods of processing raw materials, technologies to produce raw materials, methods of growing raw materials, new uses for existing raw materials

  • Proof of Concept projects

  • Commercialising research outcomes

  • Establishing new processing facilities in regional areas
