Australian manufacturing commercialisation fund - grants up to $1 million

The Australian Manufacturing Growth Centre (AMGC) is offering grants from $100,000 and up to $1 million through the AMGC Commercialisation Fund. Projects which include collaboration with research partners and other Australian manufacturers are encouraged.

The program aims to support industry projects to commercialise new products and processes that finish between Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6-9.

Supported projects will focus on the six National Manufacturing Priorities announced as part of the Australian Governments Modern Manufacturing Strategy, and which include:

  • Resources technology & critical minerals processing

  • Food & beverage

  • Medical products

  • Recycling and clean energy

  • Defence

  • Space

To be eligible applicants must:

  • Have an ACN

  • Have and ABN

  • Be non-tax-exempt

  • Be registered for GST

  • Be an incorporated Australia entity, including startups

  • Have a minimum of $200,000 expenditure

  • Must be aligned with at least one of the six National Manufacturing Priorities

  • Other additional eligibility criteria are listed in the guidelines at Section 4.2.

Applications will generally only be accepted from SME manufacturers with up to 199 employees, however larger organisations may be eligible to apply due to the impact on Australian manufacturing generally (more information in the program Guidelines).

The program will fund a range of eligible activities, with a maximum of 25% of grant funding allowed to be spent on capital investment.

A total of $30 million has been allocated to the program. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until all of the funding has been allocated.
