GrantSmart client Agriculture Guided Implement Systems Pty Ltd (AEGIS) were recently successful in securing a $212,109 Poof of Concept grant from Commercialisation Australia.

AEGIS have developed an innovative sub-surface drip irrigation system which uses radio frequency technology to deliver cost effective, accurate, precision guidance enabling small farmers to adopt sustainable systems.

This Commercialisation Australia grant will support finalisation of a commercial prototype and demonstration of the technology to a multi-$billion multi-national company in Israel.

 
Guidelines Released for R&D Tax Incentive PDF Print E-mail

AusIndustry has released Guidelines for the R&D Tax Incentive, which replace the R&D Tax Concession from 1 July 2011. There is now greater clarification with updated information on eligibility of activities, keeping records and completing the registration form.

Companies intending to claim the incentive must first register their activities with AusIndustry and have 10 months from the end of the financial year to do so.

There has been much concern across the accounting and consulting industries about the lack of available information on the upcoming R&D Tax Incentive, for which companies will be submitting claims from 1 July 2012. The lack of information around what are 'core' and 'supporting' R&D activities is likely to cause some confusion, particularly around how an eligible business can proportion their budgets.
