$400 million in grant funding for regional industrial decarbonisation

The ARENA Powering the Regions Industrial Transformation program if open for application from eligible entities or consortiums to apply for funding to support emissions reduction at existing industrial facilities in regional Australia.

The current round of funding will open on 30 November for application and is allocated to ARENA’s Round 1 Focus Areas which include:

  1. Supporting the Decarbonisation of Process Heat

  2. Off-Road Transport Decarbonisation

Funding will be offered on a 50:50 co-contribution basis with grants ranging:

  • From $300,000 for feasibility studies or front-end engineering and design (FEED) and from $1 million for projects focussed on pilot, demonstration or deployment under Focus Area 1, and

  • From $500,000 for feasibility studies or FEED and from $2 million for pilot, demonstration or deployment projects under Focus Area 2.

Applications will typically be assessed via a two-stage process including an Expression of Interest (EOI) and a Full Application.

Round 1 Focus Areas are expected to remain open for a minimum of 12 months, and applications can be submitted at any time during this period.
